Chubut River. Chubut Province, Argentina. The Chubut River is the most important river in Central Patagonia. |
It runs from the andean foothills to the Atlantic through the steppe's arid environment, and it s surrounded by a meandering line of willows and reeds.
It is a small river with a medium flow of around 50 m3/sec. Nevertheless, in its upper section the flow reaches 400 m3/sec, in springtime months, or a few 10 m3/seg in the summer's final months. Its waters collect the Arroyo Pescado and the Tecka waters through the Gualjaina, forming a broad basin with excellent fishing.
The river's upper section, included in our program, runs through enormous ranches in a semi arid environment, sunny and lonely. |
The landscape is impressive. Although the river flows through a tunnel of willows, the immensity of the steppe, the solitude of the desert, the purity of the air and the magnificent sunsets will be recorded in your memory forever.
The only way to fish the Chubut River is to float it in a long route of approximately 90 kms that we will cover in four fishing days (three nights). We offer this program from November through March.
The fish species are Rainbow, Brown, and Fontinalis trout, and though the average weight is of around 600/800 gr. the amount of captures will succeed all your expectations. In each trip there's a bigger sized surprise. MORE>> |
